I was surprised when this came out. I was expecting an album full of danceable Headhunter-type tracks which could become mainstream club hits. Instead all of the upbeat tracks had stiff unfunky, march rhythms. It’s clear that Headhunter was a one-off accident that they couldn’t reproduce.
It’s still a very good album but short of songs. Too many monotonous rhythm tracks filled out with repetitive samples. I think they realized they reached an impasse with this one and chose to reinvent their approach for the next two albums.
Tyranny >For You< is their best album and it's too sad that some folks can't get over Egg Hunter tune and move on. Front 242 clearly did.
