Cool stuff. I had a few hesitant, half-baked idea of what these terms meant just from reading reviews, but it was lovely having those ideas corrected and fleshed out by an absolute master. More than anything though, honestly, the best part was learning I wasn’t completely alone in my ignorance!
Brilliant idea for an episode, and twice as brilliant for getting Real on board. Ever since I was first exposed to his work via the remix he did of Aesthetic Perfection’s “All Beauty Destroyed”, his sound design, mixing AND mastering have always stood out as, well, masterful (not that I’m an expert–it just sounds really, really good). Most of the composition for Comaduster has always been a bit too ambient for my tastes (I’m a bit addicted to thundering 4/4 drums), but I’ve always admired the project from afar, and “Emergent One” is growing on me more and more every time I hear it. If I warm up to the style a bit more, I might have a new favorite band. The context given for the track on SoundCloud just blows my mind.
