We Have a Technical 196: A Sandy Grave
It’s time to dig into the mailbag on the latest episode of We Have A Techincal! Idieyoudie.com’s readers and listeners have sent questions which range from the curatorial to the ethical to the decidedly personal. The Senior Staff are taking up each of these questions plus discussing the recent Drew McDowall show on this week’s episode of the podcast that Considers Darker Alternatives. Ankh Ghoul Ankh Veins Shalt Clot
Death In Garnet
It’s a Creaky Tomb!
Mourn Coda
Die Bats Die
Vain Brood
Gestalt Shrug (not necessarily goth-y but I liked it…)
Okay, I’ve stared at these for ten minutes and can’t figure any of them out: you gotta let us know what the roots of these are!
They are all wrestlers from a bygone era. Eg Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall…
The others are Andre the Giant, Ricky Steamboat, Don Muraco, Ted DiBiase, Dino Bravo, and Sgt Slaughter…
DUDE. These are wonderful. I’d listen to lo-fi demo tapes by bands with any of these names. Also crazy that Hogan and Nash both end up with “Ankhs” despite not having any of the same original names.
Heh. Thank you, wordplay’s Anagrammer! Ken Shamrock’s ankhs rock ’em, along with a team of hacker monks. Greg Valentine is a revealing gent with a lot of great non-gothy anagrams to his name, with my favourites being Enervating Leg and Levering Agent, given his signature move.
