We Have a Technical 187: Mention Deleuze
The capper on our year end coverage is here, as our two tired hosts give a few final thoughts on our favourite albums of 2017, talk some honorable mentions and also discuss recent nonsense with Patreon. Do you like episodes heavily edited because we made a lot of mistakes because we were tired and drunk? Then this is the episode of We Have a Technical, the idieyoudie.com podcast for you! Giddy up! Just like every week, you can rate and subscribe on iTunes, Google Play Music, download directly or stream from the widget down below. Podcasts will still be posted for the next two weeks, but we’re taking a break from writing ’til the new year.
thank you for all you do!
Savage, and well-deserved swipe at the Mountain Goats. I haven’t seen much of a dissection of, as you folks put it, “mining goth for nostalgia points” (they did the same thing with pro wrestling for their last one) and I’m glad to see somebody mention it. Indie press would give a recording of John Darnielle reading the phone book a solid 8.6 for its “pointed lyricism” and “relatable focus”, and subculture press seems just happy that someone in a cardigan noticed that they exist, so I’m glad to see someone notice how cynical that album is.
Happy Christmas and keep on with your fantastic work!!!
