We Have a Technical 88: Once in a Podcast
Hey-hey, friends! By popular demand, we’re returning to our full album commentary format for the latest episode of the podcast. This time, it’s not as easy as it was (sorry): Wolfsheim’s 1999 breakthrough LP Spectators is getting the deluxe, blow-by-blow treatment. The album brought the band success far beyond the reach of their previous releases, moved well outside of their established synthpop sound, catapulted vocalist Peter Heppner to stardom in Germany, and of course contained one inescapable, all-time club smash. All of these topics and so much more are talked over in the latest episode of We Have A Technical. Rate and subscribe on iTunes and Stitcher, download directly, or stream from the widget down yonder!
I have the CD and love it. I went out and immediatly bought another album at Seattle’s MusicWerks and took it home to listen to it. Turns out it had DRM preventing a computer CD drive from reading it (only CD I’ve ver seen with anti-computer DRM) on it and since my computer was already my only stereo at the time, I’ve never heard it, and I certainly won’t buy any more of their stuff until they pay me back for that CD.
