We Have a Technical 60: Coke With Scooby-Doo
This week on We Have a Technical we’re talking sophomore records! We pick five albums apiece which coalesced a band’s sound, expanded their horizons, or were just generally fun to listen to. New, old, futurepop, darkwave: it’s a plethora of albums which were next in line! All that plus festivals past and future, hurdling arbitrary social media benchmarks, and the usual BS that comes with an episode of We Have A Technical!

Man…I miss Flesh Field
Man, me too.

haha, I would have included them, but I used them last time we did the “Pick 5” feature.
Also, going back to FleshField, the Redemption EP is great. Both that Gridlock remix and “Redemption (The Aftermath)” are spectacular.
My fave tracks from that have always been “Compulsive Betrayal” (still a banger!) and that Covenant remix of Inside. Golly, what a great EP that was.
Okay, the more I think about this, the more Columbus, OH comes into view as capital of g/i sophomore albums. Not just FleshField, but Dubok and the Azoic both took huge, huge steps forward on their 2nd records.
I don’t think I ever even heard the second Dubok album. Gotta look into that!
Oh man, the second Dubok album is amazing. It still sounds like the future.
Ruined Conflict does a better VNV Nation than Pride and Fall IMO.
Big ups for East Side Militia. Great Record
