We Have a Technical #38: F**k That Band
On the first episode of We Have a Technical in 2015, Bruce and Alex talk about expectations, hopes, dreams and wishes for the year to come. What styles and trends would we like to see pick up in 2015? Listen to find out. We also discuss some recent gigs we attended and some ol’ nonsense that went down in Our Thing while we were on vacay. You like industrial, goth rock, all the jazz? Face it tiger, you just hit the jackpot! Rate and subscribe on iTunes, download directly or stream from the widget below!
Love the wish list. Great points across the board.
Could you add links to the bands you discuss and maybe the zines?
If you’re looking for Lié you can find them here: https://lievancouver.bandcamp.com/album/consent

Fuck that band indeed. Thank you for addressing this and for everything you said.
Lovely rant regarding controversy for its own sake. I found myself agreeing so hard that I just may scrap the draft for something similar I was writing and just quote you…
And about that ‘more blogs’ thing, I just started my own (zentrale-eigengrau.org) and you guys have been a major inspiration. Mine is in german though, so probably not much discussion between us… but should you ever need some german lyrics translated or have some question regarding what is going on in germany, just drop me a mail. 😉
(Btw, you’re better in pronouncing german band names than most americans I’ve heard.)
Thanks, Martin! The site looks cool; we’ll see what luck we have running it through Google translate. I’m not sure how much our pronunciation has to do with being Canadian, but we’ll take it. 🙂
As a former LA industrial clubgoer, I can attest to the growth in that city. The bands I was close to include W.A.S.T.E./Vuxnut, Marching Dynamics/the Operative, Victo Ecret, and others around the Das Bunker scene on the MECHaNISMz label and promotions. But the dynamics of various scenes live in underground breakcore/drum n noise parties out there, as well. I miss it everyday I moved to the MidWest.
Super late to this show, but great job on discussing shock for the sake of being shocking. There has to be some kind of subtlety, otherwise it’s just immature attention seeking BS. Five stars, guys.
